Back to CT- What an amazing week
Sunday August 29, 2010
This morning I went to go see the march of the ducks at the Peabody Hotel. Apparently every morning at 11am, ducks that live in a pent house suite come down the elevator and strut down the red carpet and into the water fountain in the lobby of the hotel! It was so cute!
Our next stop was the airport. Our flight was at 2:00pm and we landed back in Connecticut a bit before 5pm.
This trip went by like the blink of an eye. I am sad it is over, but the memories I have from this week will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who made this experience extra special :)
On one of the first nights of preliminaries I was sitting in the audience and I looked around. For some reason it hit me at that very moment that I was sitting next to the Miss America Contestants. Not only was I sitting next to them, I was one of them. I am living my dream and I feel so lucky.
Miss America Meeting/ MAOT finals!!!!!
Saturday, August 28th
This morning was the first official Miss America meeting with the staff and all of the girls. We talked about Las Vegas and what we will need to be prepared for the pageant in January!
This afternoon I went to lunch with the Tom, Donna, and Marla Prete, Ericka Dunlap, and Luis and Stan. Afterwards, Arikka and I spent some time together.
Tonight was the finals for Miss America’s Outstanding Teen!!! All of the Miss America girls went early to sign autographs. The show was amazing and all of the girls were truly outstanding. Logan did an amazing job and she won the non-finalist eveningwear award. I am so proud of her, she was an amazing representative for CT. Congratulations to Lacey Russ from Oklahoma, the new Miss America’s Outstanding Teen!!
Arikka and I went out to dinner for our last night together in Orlando!
Disney World and Cocktail Party!
Friday, August 27, 2010
This morning Arikka and I woke up bright and early because all of us Miss America contestants left for Disney World at 7:45am!!
Our day was filled with fun and excitement. When we first arrived, we were all filmed walked down Main Street.
It really was the most surreal feeling to be in Disney World with cameras following us around all day.. I felt as if we were famous!
We each were interviewed on camera for a few minutes, then we were able to go on rides! My group had a lot of fun going on the Teacups, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain,
Splash Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, the Peter Pan ride, and the Buzz Lightyear ride. We even had to go on some rides twice because we weren't suppose to raise our hands in the air on camera, and a few of us were so excited that we forgot!
We left Disney World around 3pm and had about an hour to get ready for our eventful evening! First, we were able to stop by and visit our teens. Logan and I were able to spend a little bit of time together and also go around to collect some gifts from sponsors.
It was so nice to see her and let her know how proud I am of her. Tonight all of the Miss America contestants went to David Siegel’s home (the owner of Westgate Resorts) for a coctail party to raise money for the Miss America Organization. His mansion is unbelievable!
Golf Carts came to pick us up to bring us to the front door, again I felt like I was famous! There were so many food vendors in the back yard giving out so many different kinds of amazing appetizers.. they were all so delicious!!
We spent time socializing with the guests, encouraging participation in the silent auction, and dancing the night away! We were even able to hang out with Caressa, Miss America!! Mr. Siegel donated 25,000 to the Miss America Organization! It was such an exciting night!
By the end of the night we were all extremely exhausted!

MAOT- Tony Pony Shoot, Dinner, and Preliminary competition #3
Thursday, August 26, 2010
This morning each of the Miss America contestants had a time slot for the Tony Pony shoot that will be used for promoting the Miss America Pageant! We each had 60 seconds to tell America why we want to be Miss America.
Tonight all of us girls went out to a very nice dinner hosted by Mary Sullivan and Regalia. We went to a restaurant called Little Italy and it was the perfect time to socialize and get to know one another.
Afterwards we all went together to the third night of preliminary competition at the convention center. Logan competed tonight in the lifestyle and fitness portion of competition. She was very energetic and the push-up in her routine was perfect (haha!) She did a great job! Afterwards, I was able to see her and the rest of my CT crew at visitation!
Arikka and I went to bed right after because we are going bright and early to Disney in the morning!

Wednesday, August 25, 2010
Today I spent the day with the Prete family, Luis, and Stanley. We first went shopping at the outlets and then went to downtown Disney!
Wednesday, August 25, 2010
Tonight was the second night of preliminary competition for Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. Logan looked so beautiful in her white gown from the Crowning Touch and she did a wonderful job answering her on-stage question. We were able to visit with her for a little while after the competition and I was so happy to see her!
Tonight, my roommate, Arikka – Miss Maine, arrived in Orlando. I am very happy to see her again! Afterwards we all went out for dinner again. Even Miss America 2004, Ericka Dunlap, joined us at UNOs! Great way to end the day!
