Today I had my first photo shoot with Catherine Fiehn, the official photographer for Miss Connecticut. She really made the day so much fun and she took many wonderful shots. Thank you Catherine!!

Tickets for the troops and Submarine tour!

Tuesday July 6, 2010
Today Gail and I met up again with Christian and Sean from Grossman's Seafood in Groton. We journeyed to the sub base to hand out tickets to men on active duty for the Operation Lobster Dinner event that Christian and Sean are organizing. All 500 tickets were gone before 10:30 in the morning. Tomorrow 100 more tickets will be given out to retired service men. Everybody is really looking forward to the special event!
We were also very fortunate to meet some men at the base who gave us a tour, introduced us to many of the military men, and even brought us inside a submarine! It was so exciting!
Afterwards, Gail and I met to discuss my goals for this year and my plans to promote my platform: "One World: Global Awareness for Global Prosperity." I am very excited to get started.

4th of July Parade, Grossman's Seafood, Subfest

Happy Fourth of July! This morning was the Groton Fourth of July Parade… my first parade as Miss Connecticut! I met my driver, FX (from the American Legion), as he pulled up in his beautiful, yellow convertible truck. He was great company and his truck was a hit! It was a perfect, sunny day and the parade was a lot of fun.. I was able to meet many new friends in Groton!
After the parade I stopped by Grossman’s Seafood to meet Sean and Christian. We talked about their company and their passion in supporting the troops. I look forward to seeing them again soon and preparing for Operation Lobster Dinner in a couple of weeks!
Our last stop was Subfest. This was a carnival/festival open to the community at the Groton Naval Base. I had a lot of fun walking around for a few hours, talking to many of our service men, meeting many people in the community, signing autograph cards, and even going on a few rides with my new friend Brendan!
What a great way to spend the 4th!

Contract Signing!

On Thursday, July 1 Logan and I went to the Prete’s home to talk a little bit about this year and to sign the contract. I am now officially Miss Connecticut!

Fox 61 Interview

On Monday, June 28 Logan and I had our first television interview at Fox 61 news in Hartford! We met anchor Logan Byrnes and some of the Fox 61 staff… Definitely a great day!






**Amber Caron had the idea for the new Miss CT to keep track of the mileage traveled throughout the year; as promised I will log the miles for each appearance!

Sunday Morning Brunch!

On Sunday morning Logan and I went to a press conference/ congratulatory brunch at the Radisson Hotel. We were able to spend time with our close friends, family, the Miss Connecticut board, and the judges. I couldn’t believe I woke up as Miss Connecticut 2010!

Miss Connecticut 2010! June 26, 2010

On June 26, 2010 I was crowned Miss Connecticut 2010! As my name was called and as Sharalynn placed the crown on my head the feeling that came over me is indescribable. I had only envisioned this moment in my dreams… and now it was reality. I have to say I am still in disbelief!!

I feel so lucky to be a part of the Miss America Organization; it really has shaped who I have become today. Also, I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the beautiful state of Connecticut. I appreciate all of the love, support, encouragement, and positive feedback I have received from so many incredible people and I hope to make everybody proud this year.

Thank you to everybody who made the pageant possible this year… it wouldn’t have went on without you all. Also, thank you to the contestants, who I consider my very closest friends, for making this experience so enjoyable. I love you all! Thank you to all my friends, family, and supporters- you are the best.

I am very excited to begin my journey as Miss Connecticut this year. I look forward to taking advantage of each opportunity that comes my way. Please follow along on my daily activities- you all have helped to make this possible and I want to share my experience of a lifetime with everyone!
